And the ghost, well that is what the story is all about. It seems that the retired inspector suspects that the young gentleman might have had something to do with the aunt's demise. Also invited is a police detective, a young gentleman who recently acquired a fortune from his aunt, and a ghost. ![]() A gentleman has a retired police inspector to a dinner party. "Banquo's Chair" This stars John Williams, Kenneth Haigh, and Reginald Gardiner. It is apparent to him that someone who looks exactly like him and can act like him is becoming totally involved in his life. ![]() People are telling him they have seen him in places that he doesn't remember going to. Tom Ewell stars as a man who is starting to think that he is loosing his mind. The wife, always the one to anticipate anything, actually has the last laugh, so to speak. He kills her and buries her in the basement. He pretends to be digging a wine cellar in the basement, but his real intentions become apparent. The wife is the dominating type, probably based on years of practice. "Back for Christmas" An elderly couple prepare for a vacation to the U.S. She heads for the kitchen but then things take a turn for the worse. She decides that if she cooks him a nice home cooked meal he would feel better and maybe change his mind. The first: "Lamb to the Slaughter" stars Barbara Bel Geddes, who of course was a great actress even before "Dallas." A man comes home from work and tells his pregnant wife that he wants a divorce. Four episodes from the 1950's by the master of mystery and suspense-Alfred Hitchcock.
